World Read Aloud Day on February 2, 2022

World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience, and read-aloud! The global effort is now celebrated in over 173 countries and counting. P.S 151 needs your help with participation to add to this celebration. 

WRAD VISITS ARE NOT LONG OR FANCY PRESENTATIONS. THIS YEAR’S PRESENTATIONS WILL BE VIRTUAL THROUGHZOOM. USUALLY, THEY LAST 10-15 MINUTES AND GO SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

• 1-2      minutes: Parent gives a quick introduction & talks a little about the      book they are going to read
• 3-5      minutes: Parent reads aloud a short picture book, or a short excerpt from      a chapter book/novel
• 1-2      minutes: Parent shares a couple of books they love as recommendations for      the kids
