There can be cultural emphasis on the “new year, new me” mentality, and while self evolution is a good thing, social connections are a required part of our biological blueprint and necessary for health and wellness. Social connections are often the quickest brain hacks to increasing production of serotonin, oxytocin, and dopamine. These neurotransmitters are sometimes referred to as “the happy hormones.”
This month lets commit to focusing on reaching out to others. Acts of kindness and connection ripple out. Raise the vibration of yourself, your classroom, your office. Boost your outreach to new staff, engage your colleagues, check-in on each other, inquire, smile, cheer on, lift up, help out, compliment and affirm. Watch out for energy drainers such as excessive venting, emotional unloading, complaining, or gossiping.
Together – we can go far!
