KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Your child must be 5 years old on or before August 1, 2023, to enter kindergarten.  To help guide you through the process please read the following information.

The first and most important step a parent or legal guardian must do is complete the Final Forms registration.   For instructions to complete Final Forms, click HERE.  For a direct link to Final Forms, click HERE.  PLEASE NOTE:  YOU WILL NEED TO CLICK ON THE BIG BLUE BUTTON AND SELECT THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR.

After completing Final Forms, please contact Mrs. Bev Bilger, enrollment coordinator, at 419-994-3912, option 4 to schedule an appointment to complete the enrollment process.  Be sure to bring the following documents to your appointment as required by state law - your state ID or driver's license, child's birth certificate, current proof of residency (rental agreement or utility bill), a complete copy of adoption or custody document, if applicable, and your child's immunization record.  State law requires immunizations must be completed by the first day of school, Monday, August 21, 2023.  Click HERE for a list of required immunizations provided by the Ohio Department of Health.

Your child must also have a physical examination before entering kindergarten. To download an exam form, click HERE.

Kindergarten Orientation will be held Friday, April 28, 2023.  Parents will meet with Principal Carol Allerding while your child is assessed by classroom teachers in several kindergarten readiness skills.  She will talk a little about kindergarten and answer any questions you may have.  Orientation will last approximately one hour.

We have a wonderful parent group, the McMullen Parents Association, which would like to extend an invitation to you and your spouse to attend their monthly meetings. They sponsor many events for our students and staff such as COSI on Wheels, a Santa Shop, a school carnival, etc.  At the beginning of the school year, your student will receive a volunteer form that you may fill out and send back with your student.

Oftentimes, parents wonder if their child is ready for kindergarten.  Your child should be physically, socially and emotionally ready to start the school year.  The Ohio Department of Education has provided a helpful guide to make the transition to kindergarten as smooth as possible.  Click HERE to review their guide.

Please check back often as information regarding our school will be posted when it becomes available.  We look forward to having your student become one of our newest REDBIRDS!
